2010 The Year Of The Small Cars

2010 Is definitely the year of the small cars in the US. I know we currently have small cars available like the Mini-Copper and the Toyota Yaris. But this year we have more small car releases than in the past.

Here are four of the hot mini cars releasing this year.

Ford Fiesta

2011 Ford Fiesta

Ford's Fiesta is without doubt the sexiest and sleekest of the pack. The Fiesta has been a success for Ford in Europe and Ford believe this success will be repeated in the US.

Ford will be releasing the Fiesta as a 2011 model later on this year. The Fiesta comes standard with a 119 hours power 1.6 liter four cylinder engine and according to Ford 40 mpg.

It will also include a Power-shift twin clutch automatic transmission and leather seats.

Mazda2

2011 Mazda Mazda2

Mazda will be lunching the Mazda3 little sister. Mazda havent launch a subcompact in the US since 1985 but by taking a look at the Mazda2 is easy to know why Mazda felt comfortable taking the risk.

The Mazda just looks good. The Mazda2 have been selling in Europe and it was named car of the year. Thanks to it head and legroom space. Above average for a car with this small footprint.

Chevrolet Sparks

2011 Chevrolet Sparks

Chevrolet already has the Aveo but it hoping the 2011 model Sparks schedule to be released later this year will boost it turnaround efforts. Chevrolet haven't released many details about the Sparks but judging by the looks its pretty hip. Still it won't match the Fiesta and Mazda2 looks.

Fiat 500

2011 Fiat 500

We all knew this was going to happen. Why? Becouse the Fiat 500 (called Cinquecento in Italy) is probably Fiat's top selling model. And since Fiat invested in Chrysler it make sense for the to leverage on that investment to brings it top car to the US market.

The FIat 500 is expected to come in four flavors hatchback, wagon, convertible and sport. And boost up to 45 mpg.

Pricing on this model haven't been announced except for the Chevrolet Sparks that is suppose to go in sale for $12,000. And if the other models are priced in the same range it will make a lot of financial sense to consider this small cars.

Fantastic news as far as I'm concerned!

As far as I'm concerned it's about time America started to really to embrace small cars in a similar way to Europe.

I couldnt agree more with the previous comment. over here in Europe its all about the Hatchback cars. They are more practical especially over here where the roads are really small.
