New Hardware Tivo Premiers New Hardware

Just two days ago Tivo announced their new Tivos. The Tivo Premier and the Premier XL. 

The new Tivo come with a new user interface and accessories. The new Tivo focuses on streaming and a revamped search feature that let you search for content across platforms like cable, Netflix, Amazon and more. 

The Premier will retail for $299 and have a 320GB hard drive that will record up to 45 hours of HD video.

The Premier XL goes for $499 and comes with 1TB that will let you record 150 hours of HD video and is THX certified.

The new Tivos uses Wireless N but like on the previous version is an add on and will set you back another $90.

Their is also a a new optional remote with a full slide qwerty keyboard.

This new Tivos look awesome and the the software is a jump to the 21st century as the previous version was so 90's.

The New Software will only work on the new hardware so previous Tivo owner can't upgrade their system to the new software. The new software requires more power than what is available on the previous hardware. 

$300 Millions For Tivo.

A federal appeals court in Texas has affirmed that Dish Networks.Echo Star infringes in Tivos patent and because Dish did not complied with a previous injunction it was ordered to pay Tivo $300 millions.

And Tivo may seek even more as that amount only covered until Sep 09 and Dish have keep selling hardware with the infringing patent.

This are all good news for Tivo.
