Copper while working at Motorola Car Phone division in 1973 envisioned a lighter more portable device that could be carry around by anyone and not just hook up to a car.
In only 90 days a prototype was built and on April 3 1973 he made the first call on NYC.
The first cellphone was the Motorola DynaTac 800Mhz. It weighted 2.2 pounds and cost $4000 almost $9000 on today's money.
While Copper knew that some day most person will have a cellphone he dint believe it will happen in he's lifetime.
He is pround on how cellphone has transformed our world and how fast they have and keep evolving.
So we all should thank him for a brilliant idea.
