Sony Ericsson Drops Symbian

While Nokia's Symbian still the worldwide mobile os leader its market share keep shrinking.

And that do not seem to be changing any time soon as more handset maker keep shifting away from it in favor of Google's Android OS.

The latest manufacturer to announce that it will be dropping Symbian from it product roadmap in favor of Android is Sony Ericsson.

The following statement made to Bussinesweek by Sony Ericsson's Mr. Liguori paint a clear departure from Symbian.  “We have no plans for the time being to develop any new products to the Symbian Foundation standard or operating system,”
