Massive Subscribers Loss At Sprint Due To Lack of iPhone

Today Sprint reported a massive subscribers lost that far outweighs analyst estimates. Analyst were expecting around 15,000 subscriber loss at Sprint for the quarter.

But the actual number of subscribers loss was 101,000 almost seven times more than what analyst estimated. Those number are bad specially when you see Verizon adding 1.3 millions and At&t adding 331,000.

The blame on subscriber loss was put on the iPhone. Sprint subscriber abandon the carrier to go with carriers that offered the iPhone. And with Verizon getting the iPhone 4 a first for them and At&t offering the 3GS at $49 its easy to see why Sprint is having a bad quarter.

They actually predict more losses to happen on the next quarter. Considecially thats when the next version of the iPhone will launch.

Rumors of a Sprint & T-Mobile iPhone version have been flouting around but nothing is official. But if they don't get an iPhone soon no matter how many killer Androids they get it will be hard to stop the bleeding.
