Apple has removed the lock on its new iCloud service. But only in Beta mode and only available to developers. iClud was announced back in June at the WWDC in San Francisco and it will be replacing MobileMe.
The Beta site is fully functional with Calendar, Contacts, Mail, iCloud for Pages, iWork & Find My iPhone all working as intended and with no restrictions.
And what's more interesting is that Apple has revealed the price for upgraded storage. When iCloud was announced in June Steve Jobs said it will come with 5GB of free storage. And that didn't counted content purchased from iTunes or Apps so it was a lot. But for those that needed (or just wanted) more space the option to purchase will be there.
Well today we know how much it will cost:
- 5GB FREE
- 15GB $20 a year
- 25GB $40 a year
- 55GB $100 a year
